Scott Everett began DJing in 1993, inspired by what he had experienced in the San Francisco rave scene, and by the Wicked djs, the Hardkiss Brothers, Josh, Tony, Spun, and other Bay Area favorites. It was around this time that Scott co-founded Mother Earth Sound System with djs Whitsitt, Brad (now with Moontribe), and Stonie (now with Cloud Factory). MESS began to do free outdoor parties in the Bay Area, collaborating with Harmony, Cloud Factory, Friends & Family, SPAZ, Your Sister's House, and Gateway. Through these DIY events, MESS became a respected part of the SF underground.

In 1996 Mother Earth Sound System arrived in Boulder, Colorado. They have become renowned for their free outdoor Full Moon Gatherings, high in the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. Over the last 12 years, these parties have become a summer ritual attended by hundreds of faithful music & nature enthusiasts, and have been the ultimate playground for Scott's explorations in sound.

In addition to their outdoor parties, MESS does one-off special events in warehouses, art galleries, dance studios and lofts. At these parties, Scott has played alongside Joel Mull, Dan Bell, John Tejada, Alexi Delano, Derek Plaslaiko, Matthew Dear, Ryan Elliott, Surgeon, the Kooky Scientist, Greg Schiff, Stewart Walker, Maetrik, Jeff Milligan, Sutekh, Jay Haze, DJ Spooky, and many others.

Scott’s DJ sets can encompass many genres, tempos and moods, but are always deeply musical and eclectic. He is a Colorado favorite best known for seamlessly fusing house, techno and trance, with a strong emphasis on melody, atmosphere, and inventive programming. His sources are many and varied: Detroit techno, acid house, SF psychedelic house, early '90s progressive house, industrial, dub, funk, jazz, classic garage/disco. His goal is to consistently challenge the listener while retaining a solid groove throughout.
