Shane Delinks, formerly known as DJ Sunshane, first entered the electronic dance music scene in February of 1993 by walking into a NASA rave at the Shelter in New York. He had come from a more traditional musical background, playing the piano, trumpet and bass guitar in concert and jazz bands as a kid, but immediately his perspective of music, dance and community was transformed to one of larger, more exciting possibilities. Without delay he sunk his teeth into his new instrument, the turntables. Shane Delinks was living in Oberlin, Ohio at the time. Starting in January of 1994 and continuing through August of 1996, he held residencies as DJ Sunshane at clubs in Cleveland and Akron and DJ'd parties in Dayton, Columbus and Athens. Shane was a DJ for the production companies Universal Vibe and Underground Peace Society (UPS), and during the summers he lived in Connecticut, where he DJ'd for Phuture Productions in New London and surrounding areas. During the fall of 1996, Shane Delinks' DJ career moved to Boulder, CO where he and a friend created ‘Boulder Peace Movement’ (BPM) Productions and started throwing weekly parties. That winter he fused with a collective of DJs, dancers, and artists known as The Humble Souls and Mother Earth Sound System, which immediately became his electronic music family, throwing free outdoor parties, as well as creative and inspiring indoor events. Though currently split into two groups, The Humble Souls and Mother Earth Sound System are still throwing excellent underground parties in the Denver/Boulder region today. In 1999, Shane and his brother Chandler started working together as djs. When performing, they are called The Brothers Delinks, and are best known as a team for their outrageously fun weekly parties, and their four-turntable sets. "We work really well together in music and in business. Chandler is one talented dude, a great brother, and an awesome friend." The Brothers have written tracks together and separately. Some of which are released on vinyl under Milehighhouse Recordings, others as tracks on beatport.com, while others are unreleased as of now. Shane and Chandler joined forces with Milehighhouse Productions in the spring of 2000, and were truly honored to be a part of such a strong and talented network of artists, djs, producers and friends. "Milehighhouse is a unified entity of many different extraordinarily talented groups of artists and musicians, and that's what makes it so strong!" The talent is all top notch and the styles are diverse, check out http://www.beatport.com and search for Milehighhouse. You will find music by Shane Delinks as well as other talented producers and djs. During the fall of 2001, The Brothers Delinks moved east, Chandler to Boston, and Shane to New York City. Upon arrival in NYC, Shane was immediately picked up by the very well known and respected New York Production Company, TouchedByADJ, and landed four residencies. He began working quite immediately with Yohan Afterglow, The incredible David Hollands of Minimal Wage, and Liam of the infamous Hooka Lounge at Liquids. All of these characters are NYC legends in the undergrounds house and techno scene. Hollands bought Shane under his wing, and helped him to fly in New York after playing a party set up by a great friend and incredible DJ, Lucas Ortega. The love, respect and welcoming will always be cherished and appreciated by Shane Delinks. While not only DJing weekly, and meeting some of the most amazing people in the NY house and techno scene, Shane also rebuilt the most successful underground dance music website http://www.satelliterecords.com with partner Steve Shapiro. Satellite records is still going strong online for dance music vinyl and is soon to move to digital downloads. In 2003 Shane Delinks moved back to CO to rejoin his CO crew, be with his now X-girlfriend, Isabelle, and her/his son Etienne. Though not biologically or legally defined, Etienne had always been Shane’s son, while Isabelle had been his partner. Etienne is now 9, and performed his first live dj scratch and mix at the age of 3 in the arms of Shane at a Sunday 'sunset' party in the CO mountains. Etienne is currently making his own acid techno on his home computer, and has a large interest in electricity and electronics. He is a brilliant boy and has felt the magic of electronic dance music from the age of 2, when he and Shane made their first bond at a 'crew' cookout. Production: Shane Delinks released on ING Recordings (009) out of Tokyo Japan. Other have been release under Milehighhouse Recordings on vinyl and on beatport.com. You can listen to them by visiting his discography page on http://delinks.com, http://www.beatport.com, or by clicking on Brothers Delinks under Producer Talent of http://milehighhouse.com. DJ Style: Shane Delinks is extremely versatile. He started DJing deep/vocal/garage house in the underground clubs of Cleveland back in 1993. Since then his style has morphed through many shades of house and techno heavily influenced by Chicago, Detroit, West Coast and European sounds. Currently his sets have a very driving, funky, chunky, bleepie, and techie feel to them, while using a very smooth, flowing mixing technique. Some of his sets are house, some tech-house, some electro, some minimal tech, some harder techno, while others are a combination of all of the above. One thing is for sure, his sets will inspire you to enjoy sound, dance, people and life.
